Kambaba Jasper is one of the more exotic Jaspers ,a rare orbicular variety from South Africa, Madagascar and the small sea which divides the two land masses. A sedimentary stone, Kambaba Jasper is comprised of microcrystalline Quartz interlaced with Stromatolites, ancient fossilised colonies created by cynobacteria (blue-green algae) and other primeval organisms. These Stromatolites date back more than 3 billion years, and are the oldest known fossils, containing the earliest records of life on Earth.
