Mica is mined in countries all over the world, including Belgium, Brazil, India, Russia and China. The world “mica” is dervied from the Latin word “micare”, which means to shine”. This name was given to this group of minerals because they typically form in thin sheets and have a pearly lustre. Some of the more common types of this mineral include Fuchsite, Anandite, Muscovite and Lepidolite.
